This is so rewarding to know that, Alex. Thank you for sharing. And oh, being right is something we all love. 😅
in this case, I an happy to let you know that you are indeed right. There is a virtue but it is not called hard work. I am not sure what to call it but it is not about being hard. Thinking that work has to be hard is a conditioning and a limiting belief. Thank you for catching that. I definitely do not believe in that but it creeped out of a deep place related to my upbringing. It's fascinating how that works. Wow! Very interesting! As I said, I am in recovery… Not fully recovered yet.
I have sat and listened through and worked with so many addictions with people - and the thing is - no one wants to think or believe they are addicted. We all have capacity to be addicted to something / something / somewhere... it is an inner human entanglement... so first acknowledging that and then realising there are good things to turn addictions to ... for most unable to calm addiction giving a 'good' outlet can be the very thing that enables the rest of their lives to be balanced. Awareness is key right.. acknowledgment is essential... know that which pulls you and you can be in control of the direction you want to go ... great article thanks Natalia
I am happy it resonates, Carl. Indeed, no one thinks they are addicted and yet, we all are to different extent of course. I also agree that the process of getting free from the entanglement starts with awareness and then the honesty to acknowledge. The reward is freedom and the potentiality to get in touch with what truly inspires us.
Well thought through as usual. The key word for me is addiction. That is a personal issue for me. I really like the analysis between a communist and capitalist country. Fresh energy here.
Thank you! I am planning to write more about my experiences in communism and capitalism. I believe we need to be much more aware of these political systems than we are. We can't move to anything better before we make sense of our most recent history.
Great stuff that will be. Folks have no clue. Your insight will be very important and crucial. The speed of life will pick up from 25-30 and that is what I am very concerned about.
Excellent article. I love your writing and insights, all so important to be shared. I've also been looking at the meaningfulness of my work and creativity, and that fine line of workaholism. It's an ongoing inquiry. I may not know the answer, but I can live the question, like Rilke says. Thank you for your gifts, Natalia.
"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer."
This really resonates. Your posts inspire me to connect to and honour my real self.
On the list of addictions, 'demonstrating that I am right' has been standing out for me recently. Something for me to learn no doubt!
I'm curious about 'hard work being a virtue'. This struck a bad note for me as it seemed to be aligned with 'work is supposed to be hard'.
I would value your reflections (whilst noting what could be taken as my desire to be right 🤣)

Thank you, Erin! It is a journey, indeed! I like that quote of Rilke. Makes total sense!
It's been a touchstone for me for 25 years. 💕

Brilliant! Love it!
